Overview
What is Clarivo?
Clarivo is a Softrious in-house product for live event audio. At talks, services, classes, fitness sessions, and town halls, background noise and hard rooms make it difficult to hear and stay engaged. Clarivo takes the speaker’s microphone feed, cleans it up with AI noise suppression and speech boosting, and streams it with very low delay to each listener’s own phone and headphones. Joining takes seconds: scan the QR code at the venue, tap a shared link, or pick a nearby event. No receivers, no special hardware—just the phone people already carry. Beyond one-way listening, Clarivo turns any event into an audio room. Hosts can bring listeners on stage to speak, see raised hands, and run a moderated chat for questions and reactions alongside the audio. Live translation into 30+ languages is planned next, so more people can follow along in the language they think in.
The problem it explores
Most venues weren’t designed for every seat to hear clearly. Echo, crowd noise, wind outdoors, and weak speakers leave people at the back—or anyone with hearing loss—guessing at what was said. Dedicated assistive-listening hardware is costly, shared, and often unused. Clarivo explores a simpler path: use the phone and headphones people already own, and make the audio better than being in the front row.

The challenge
What we set out to solve.
Give everyone in a live event clear, near-instant audio on their own phone—without special hardware, sign-up friction, or audio lag that drifts out of sync with the person on stage.
- 01Join a broadcast in under ten seconds
- 02Keep delay low enough to match lips on stage
- 03Make the voice clearer than the room itself
- 04Let audiences ask, react, and speak when invited
Key features
The product, feature by feature.
- 01
Voice clarity
AI noise suppression and speech boosting on the stream, with an outdoor mode for wind and crowd noise.
- 02
Instant join
Scan a QR code, enter a six-digit code, tap a link, or pick from broadcasts nearby.
- 03
Host console
Live timer, input level, noise removed, listener count, latency, and mic source in one view.
- 04
Audio rooms
Speakers on stage with live speaking rings, a listener grid, raised hands, and floating reactions.
- 05
Room chat
Questions and reactions beside the audio, host messages highlighted, and stricter moderation for under-18 audiences.
- 06
Live translation
Planned: real-time translated audio and captions in 30+ languages.
Interface
Nine screens, built for dark rooms.
Dark-first so the phone stays discreet in a hall or studio. Cyan marks what’s live and listening, red is reserved for being on air. Layouts and the brand are original to Clarivo; the people shown are fictional.
User journey
From the back row to every word.
- 1
Host goes live
Name the session, pick the event type, and start streaming from any mic.
- 2
Audience scans
The QR code on stage or screen opens the broadcast instantly.
- 3
Listen clearly
Clean, low-delay audio plays in each person’s own headphones.
- 4
Take part
Raise a hand, react, or post a question in the room chat.
- 5
Step on stage
The host invites a listener to speak, and the whole room hears them.
Who it’s for
The people Clarivo is designed around.
Every screen was shaped around these user profiles: what they need, what gets in their way, and what the product changes for them.
Grace
61, attends talks at her community centre
- Needs
- Hear every word from the back of the hall.
- Frustration
- Echoey rooms and weak PA systems mean she misses half of each talk.
- What the app gives them
- The speaker’s voice, cleaned up, straight to her own phone and headphones.
Tom
38, runs fitness classes and town halls
- Needs
- Reach every attendee clearly and take questions without passing a mic around.
- Frustration
- Renting audio equipment is expensive and still leaves people at the back out.
- What the app gives them
- QR join, audio rooms, raised hands and moderated chat—no special hardware.
Brand identity
A quiet identity for something you mostly hear.
Clarivo’s identity was created from scratch: an open-ring waveform mark, a cyan-to-iris gradient on deep ink, and a calm, plain-spoken voice.
Logo
An open ring holding a waveform, with sound leaving through the gap: the room’s voice, carried straight to you.

Design decisions
Why it looks and works the way it does.
Dark by default
People use Clarivo in halls, studios, and services. A dark UI keeps the screen discreet and the battery happy.
Listening needs no account
Scanning a code is enough to hear. Accounts are only for hosting, speaking, or chatting.
Red means on air
The live colour is used only when audio is going out, so hosts always know when their mic is live.
Latency over fidelity
Speech-tuned audio at low delay beats high-fidelity audio that lags behind the person on stage.
Proposed architecture
How we’d build it.
A low-latency media pipeline with AI processing on the host’s stream, a selective forwarding layer that scales to large rooms, and realtime services for roles, hands, and chat.
- 1
Mobile app
Flutter for iOS and Android, background audio playback, Bluetooth and wired headphone routing, and QR scanning
- 2
Media layer
Agora Voice SDK on Agora’s global real-time network (SD-RTN™) for low-latency rooms, host and audience roles, and adaptive audio on weak venue Wi-Fi
- 3
AI audio
Agora AI Noise Suppression and voice enhancement on the host’s stream, with outdoor and indoor profiles, plus Agora real-time speech-to-text for captions and translation
- 4
Rooms & realtime
Room roles (host, speaker, listener), raised hands, and reactions over Agora Signaling, with moderated chat on Agora Chat
- 5
Discovery & access
Short join codes, signed links, QR generation, and optional location-based nearby listing
Tech stack
Built with Flutter and Node.js.
One Flutter codebase ships the iOS and Android apps. Live audio runs on Agora’s real-time network, with Agora AI handling noise suppression, voice enhancement, and live transcription, and a TypeScript API for rooms, roles, and access. Proposed stack for this product.

Approach
How we shaped it.
It follows the same delivery model we use for every client engagement.
- 01
Discovery
Align goals, define the product scope, and create a shared roadmap before engineering begins.
- 02
Design
Create a polished interface system, validate flows, and define the experience before code.
- 03
Engineering
Build with clear milestones, visible progress, and maintainable code from day one.
What it demonstrates
- Real-time audio product design with AI in the signal path
- An original dark-theme identity: name, mark, palette, and voice
- Audio rooms with roles, moderation, and chat designed for live events
- Accessibility and inclusion treated as the core of the product
What we’d validate next
- Pilot in a lecture hall and a fitness studio to tune noise profiles
- Test latency targets on crowded venue Wi-Fi and mobile data
- Prototype live translation with captions for two languages
Clarivo is a Softrious in-house product, designed and planned end to end by our team.
From the team
Behind the build.
“With live audio, people forgive a plain screen but never a dropout. So we designed Clarivo audio-first: join in seconds from a QR code, hear the speaker clearly, and only then see rooms, raised hands and chat. Every interface choice was checked against one question—does this get in the way of listening?”
